Paris synagogue bombing case remains unsolved, 38 years on

Description

On October 3, 1980, a bomb exploded in front of a Paris synagogue, killing four people and injuring dozens more. The attack sent shockwaves across the country. The sole suspect - Hassan Diab, a Lebanese-Canadian national - was extradited to France. In January of this year, the case against him was thrown out for lack of evidence. But just last week - 38 years after the bloodshed - new evidence emerged, with a French appeals court reopening the high-profile case. FRANCE 24 takes a look back.
