Chinese Annual Travel Rush is Expected to See 2.9 Billion Trips During the Lunar New Year

With Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, just round the corner, the annual travel rush in China is fully underway. Sixty percent of the trains on China's high-speed rail network — already the world's largest at a combined length of 19,000 kilometers — run faster than 350 kilometers per hour. Air China added more than 2,400 flights in the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year, to run an average of 1,160 flights each day, and Air China added 6,000 flights.
