The new MINI Clubman is the largest car MINI has ever made, and the latest model has ditched the old car's odd door layout in favour of traditional doors. The barn doors at the back remain, and the MINI Clubman is best to be seen as a rival for traditional family hatchbacks instead of being a true load-lugging estate car. It doesn't come cheap, and once you dive into the extensive options list you could end up spending a small fortune, but the Clubman is fun to drive, impressively spacious for a MINI and it's certainly distinctive both inside and out. The high-quality interior goes some way to justifying the car's high price, too.
The latest Jaguar XF may not look too different from the old model (or the smaller Jaguar XE), but dig beneath the sleek looks and you'll find a much-improved executive saloon. It's the latest in the growing 500 range, and sits alongside the 500 and 500L and is aimed at those looking for the same retro looks but with a bit more of a rugged image. It comes in a range of petrol and diesel engines and plenty of personalisation options.
The Mercedes V-Class is based on the Mercedes Vito van and offers generous space for up to eight passengers in a luxurious package. It comes at a price, though, but it occupies a unique place in the market for people looking for a luxurious people carrier with a generous dose of practicality.
