George Clooney Sounds Off on the Oscars

Description

For the second year in a row, #OscarsSoWhite has begun trending on Twitter after the nominees were announced since not one non-white person was nominated in any of the top categories. Now with many prolific Hollywood voices boycotting the eponymous awards show, actor George Clooney has sounded off on the situation as well. In an interview with Variety, Clooney said, "If you think back 10 years ago, the Academy was doing a better job. Think about how many more African Americans were nominated. I would also make the argument, I don’t think it’s a problem of who you’re picking as much as it is: How many options are available to minorities in film, particularly in quality films?"
