Minnesota Governor Issues Proposal for State Workers

Description

On Tuesday, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton proposed giving six weeks of paid parental leave to all state employees after the birth or adoption of a child. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, if the legislature approves, Minnesota would join California, New Jersey and Rhode Island in having paid family leave. According to the governor's office, about 500 new parents would use the benefit every year from the plan.
