Iggy Pop, Josh Homme Team for New Album 'Post Pop Depression'


Iggy Pop and Josh Homme will release and tour behind a collaborative album, 'Post Pop Depression,' The pair began working on the album last January in secret and without a record label. he Stooges singer said Homme "took me to a place I’d never been," While Homme has been busy with Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal, Post Pop Depression marks Pop's first record since his 2013 effort with the Stooges, Ready to Die.

  • Iggy Pop and Josh Homme Joing Together For 'Post Pop Depression' Tour

    Iggy Pop and Josh Homme are joining together to go on a 20-date tour this spring in support of their forthcoming LP Post Pop Depression. The trek kicks off March 28th at Seattle's Paramount Theatre and visits historic venues throughout North America and Europe. Dead Weather guitarist Dean Fertita and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders are both featured on the album. The quartet will receive some additional firepower on tour, adding Queens of the Stone Age/Failure guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and Chavez's Matt Sweeney on bass to the lineup. Post Pop Depression arrives March 18th. Pop and Homme have unleashed a pair of the new album's nine songs, the punk-funk "Gardenia" and the vintage Pop cut "Break Into Your Heart."

    Ariana Grande has said thank you, next to the Grammy Awards. A source close to the singer tells CNN that Grande has decided not to perform at Sunday's event -- or attend -- after a dispute with the show's producers. "The producers were dictating what songs she could sing," the source said. CNN has reached out to the Recording Academy for comment. Grande, whose album "Thank U, Next" drops Friday, is nominated for best pop vocal performance and best pop vocal album. Grammy producers initially rejected Grande's choice to perform her new single "7 Rings," then later agreed on the condition they chose her second song, according to the source. Grande had been included in promotions for the Grammy Awards on billboards and buses around Los Angeles in recent weeks. Despite her absence, there will be a slew of artists taking the Grammys stage, including Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Janelle Monáe, Post Malone, Dan + Shay, Kacey Musgraves and Shawn Mendes. Alicia Keys will host the show which airs February 10 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.

    The release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is more than a year away, but cast and crew are already teasing the follow-up to Marvel's summer 2014 hit on social media as rehearsals get under way.
