Jeremy Renner Turned Down ‘Mission: Impossible’ Cameo

Uproxx reports Jeremy Renner turned down a cameo in the new **Mission: Impossible** movie. Renner played agent William Brandt in **Ghost Protocol** and **Rogue Nation**. Director Christopher McQuarrie says he offered Renner a scene in which Brandt is killed. “So I said to Renner, ‘Hey listen, I have this idea for an opening sequence where you sacrifice yourself to save the team, and that the mission-gone-wrong not only involves losing the plutonium, but involves the death of a team member.’ And Jeremy was like, ‘Thanks, but no thanks.’" Christopher McQuarrie McQuarrie said that this means Jenner as Brandt can return to the franchise in 2021.
