With the iPhone 7, Apple removed the headphone jack, much to the chagrin of audiophiles. The newly announced MacBook Pro has a whopping six USB Type-C ports. That’s great! However, those are all the ports it has. USB Type-C is a definite improvement because the plug is reversible, it’s faster, delivers more power, and can output almost any kind of signal. Right now, it means you’ll need a lot of adapters. The outcry was swift after the new MacBook went on sale. Apple was making a killing on all those dongles, but it has now relented and lowered the prices. Some of Apple’s first-party adapters have seen price drops as high as 50%. In addition to the drop in dongle cost, Apple is lower prices on all USB Type-C and Thunderbolt peripherals by 25% through the end of the year.
Apple's decision to replace most ports on the new MacBook and MacBook Pro with the USB-C port left many people confused. Apple's logical MagSafe power connectors on older Mac models saved everyone who is prone to tripping on cables with their easy on and off attachment. MagNeo is a kickstarter that says its the first magnetic USB-C solution that can do 5K video and high-speed data. The MagNeo is also an adapter, meaning you can connect your own cable or USB hub to the device. MagNeo can be used on any device that uses a USB-C connector. It's Kickstarter has a $35,000 funding goal and ends on January 27th.
Apple launches the iPhone 15, equipped with a universal USB-C charger instead of the company's usual Lightning port, after the EU ordered manufacturers to adopt a common connection. IMAGES
