Let us know if you make this salad, we love hearing from you.SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/SubWildDishRECIPEINGREDIENTS:100G (1/2 CUP) DRIED GREEN LENTILS, RINSED1 LARGE FENNEL BULB1 TBSP OLIVE OIL3 FRESH FIGS, QUARTEREDA SMALL HANDFUL OF FRESH DILL, CHOPPEDPINK HIMALAYAN SALT OR SEA SALT AND FRESHLY GROUND BLACK PEPPERDRESSING:½ LEMON1 TBSP EXTRA-VIRGIN OLIVE OIL½ TSP GROUND CUMINMETHOD1. PREHEAT THE OVEN TO 180°C / 350°F / GAS 42. PLACE THE LENTILS IN A SMALL SAUCEPAN, COVER WITH COLD WATER AND PLACE OVER A MEDUIM-HIGH HEAT. BRING TO THE BOIL, THEN TURN THE HEAT DOWN TO LOW AND SIMMER FOR 20 MINUTES OR UNTIL COOKED THROUGH ADDING MORE WATER IF NEEDED. DRAIN, TIP BACK INTO THE PAN AND LEAVE TO COOL.3. REMOVE ANY TATTY OUTER LEAVES FROM THE FENNEL, CUT INTO 1CM WEDGES AND PLACE IN A ROASTING TRAY WITH A DRIZZLE OF OLIVE OIL AND A PINCH OF SALT AND BLACK PEPPER.4. ROAST IN THE HOT OVEN FOR 30-35 MINUTES, TURNING HALFWAY TO MAKE SURE ALL THE WEDGES ARE EVENLY COOKED. REMOVE FROM THE OVEN AND ALLOW TO COOL.5. TO MAKE THE DRESSING, ZEST THE LEMON AND SET THE ZEST ASIDE. MIX TOGETHER THE EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL, LEMON JUICE AND CUMIN IN A SMALL BOWL.6.     Chef Brian Karam will be preparing an appetizing side dish to complement your roasted turkey for the Thanksgiving holiday! Ingredients: 1 Cup Wild Rice 1 Large Beet 4 Thinly Sliced Green Onion 1/2 Cup Pecans 1/3 Cup White Balsamic Vinegar 1/3 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil Salt & Pepper ① Preheat an oven to 400 degreesF. ② Wash the beet under cold water and pat dry. Wrap in foil and place in preheated oven. ③ Roast the beet until knife tender 45 minutes to 1 hour. ④ Place a large pot of water on the stovetop. When the water boils, add the wild rice and cook until the rice pops. ⑤ Drain the rice and run cool water on it and place in a large bowl. ⑥ While the cooked beet is still warm, peel the skin off of it. Cut into 1/4 inch dice. And add to the wild rice in the bowl. ⑦ Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over a burner and add to the bowl with the rice and beet ⑧ Add the sliced green onions to the bowl. ⑨ Pour in the vinegar and oil into the bowl and toss to combine the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper.
