Renault Names Interim Chairman, While Sources Claim COO To Replace Ghosn

Description

According to a report by Reuters, sources claim that French carmaker Renault's board has named an interim chairman and handed new powers to its chief operating officer to replace embattled chief Carlos Ghosn after he was arrested in Japan on suspicion of financial misconduct. Sources claimed that Philippe Lagayette will temporarily take over as chairman, while Chief Operating Officer Thierry Bollore will take on full company officer powers. On Tuesday, the board reportedly refrained from firing Ghosn while it waited to receive more information on accusations that emerged from an internal investigation by Nissan.
