South Korea Shutters Largest Dog Meat Slaughterhouse

Description

South Korea has shut down its largest dog slaughterhouse. Seongnam City council closed Taepyeong where hundreds of thousands of dogs were killed each year. Taepyeong comprises six individual slaughterhouses, five of which are set to be bulldozed immediately. In the sixth building, all cages will be destroyed and equipment removed so that it is no longer operational. Humane Society International says the council intends to build a community park on the land.
