US Navy Flexes Military Might In South China Sea

According to a report by Business Insider, the US Navy has released an impressive video of two aircraft carriers performing exercises in the Philippine Sea, however a US government report warns these massive floating air bases could be vulnerable to Chinese missiles. The Navy reportedly said the exercise was aimed at preserving a "free and open Indo-Pacific," which has been interpreted to mean countering Beijing's growing dominance in the South China Sea. However, a report from the National Defense Strategy Commission, warned that "If the United States had to fight Russia in a Baltic contingency or China in a war over Taiwan, Americans could face a decisive military defeat."
