Wave Of Anti-Semitic Violence And Abuse Rocks France

Description

According to a report by Reuters, a series of attacks across France has alarmed politicians and prompted calls for action against what some commentators describe as a new form of anti-Semitism among the far-left and Islamist preachers. On Tuesday, the problem was starkly highlighted by the discovery of over 90 graves in a Jewish cemetery in eastern France desecrated with swastikas and other abuse. Reuters reports that it remains unclear who was responsibility for the attack. President Emmanuel Macron reportedly declared, "Whoever did this is not worthy of the French republic and will be punished. We’ll take action, we’ll apply the law and we’ll punish them.”
