Joining the performance family, Audi Sport launches its latest RS model - the Audi RS5 Sportback. Making its world debut at the 2018 New York International Auto Show, the RS5 Sportback offers a balance of high design and driving dynamics. The 2019 RS5 Sportback represents the latest model in the highly successful Audi Sport family, with breakthrough 5-door coupe design and exceptional performance. ""The Audi RS5 Sportback is a completely new offer for our customers. Our progressive interpretation of a five-door high-performance coupe has neither a predecessor model nor a direct competitor, ""says Michael-Julius Renz, managing director of Audi Sport GmbH, about the latest member of the RS family. ""The Sportback offers the ultimate in functionality with maximum performance."" The 2.9 liter TFSI V6 biturbo engine delivers power, efficiency and distinct RS sound. The new biturbo engine generates 444 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque available in a wide rev range from 1,900 to 5,000 rpm. The Audi RS5 Sportback sprints from 0 to 60 mph in under four seconds and achieves a top track speed of 155 mph, or increased to 174 mph with the optional Dynamic plus package. The two turbochargers on the 2.9-liter engine of RS5 are positioned directly inside the ""V"" promoting engine responsiveness and performance. For high engine efficiency, power and torque, the V6 engine uses a centrally mounted fuel injector and a combustion method with shorter compression and longer expansion phases. This B-cycle combustion process with central direct injectors further supports efficiency of the powertrain.

Immense pulling power and high output combined with efficiency: Even after the revision, the output of the 2.9 TFSI remains unchanged at 331 kW (450 PS). The V6 twin-turbo delivers between 1,900 and 5,000 rpm; during this process, each charger supplies a cylinder bank with compressed air and 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) of torque is supplied to the crankshaft. Both RS models catapult themselves from zero to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.9 seconds; on request, Audi Sport GmbH can raise the top speed from 250 km/h (155.3 mph) to 280 km/h (174.0 mph).An eight-speed tiptronic that has been tuned for sportiness transmits the forces of the engine; the driver can control it using enlarged aluminum shift paddles. The quattro permanent all-wheel drive gives the RS5 a special place in the segment. In normal driving operation, the power distribution between the front and rear axle is 40:60 - this asymmetrical dynamic torque distribution leads to sporty, rear-biased handling. If necessary, the center differential can redirect up to 70% of the forces toward the front or up to 85% of the forces toward the rear. With the optional sport differential, which actively distributes torques between the wheels of the rear axle, the dynamic handling is increased even further. In the WLTP driving cycle, the Audi RS5 Coupé consumes just 9.1 l (2.4 US gal) of fuel per 100 km (62.1 mi); the RS5 Sportback consumes 9.2 l (2.4 US gal); the two vehicles thus emit 208 g/km (334.7 g/mi) and 209 g/km (336.4 g/mi) of CO2 respectively.

Despite its focus on increased driving fun, the RS sport suspension pro offers manually adjustable coilover suspension for an ideal spread between comfort and performance. Thanks to this, even longer distances can be covered comfortably with all available assistance systems and without any limitations. Customers who choose this coilover suspension will receive their RS 4 Avant or RS 5 ex factory with a ride height that is 10 mm lower than standard RS models. Plus, customers can manually lower the ride height by an additional 10 mm for an overall ride height that is 20 mm lower than the series standard. A higher spring rate, three-way adjustable dampers, and stiffer stabilizers heighten the general driving experience and help shorten lap times. The upshot: Customers profit from more precise and more agile handling. Both competition packages also feature an increased maximum speed of 290 km/h.

More powerful and faster than any RS 6 and RS 7 to date: new Audi RS 6 Avant performance and the RS 7 Sportback performance are bursting with extras that sharpen the models’ appearance and make for a more emotive driving experience. The potent 4.0-liter V8 biturbo TFSI engine now has an engine power of 463 kW (630 PS) and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. From December 8, the RS 6 Avant performance and the RS 7 Sportback performance1 are available for 135,000 euros each.At Audi, ‘performance’ means more power. For example, larger turbochargers and an increase in boost pressure from 2.4 to 2.6 bar in the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo TFSI engine that both the RS 6 Avant performance and RS 7 Sportback performance boast, allow an increase of 30 PS in engine power and 50 Nm more torque compared to the base versions. This means a total increase in power from 441 kW (600 PS) to 463 kW (630 PS) and in maximum torque from 800 to 850 Nm. The performance models3 sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the RS 6 / RS 7 base versions.Yet less is sometimes more: reduced insulation between the engine compartment, the interior, and the rear of the vehicle ensures the RS 6 Avant performance and the RS 7 Sportback performance1 will thrill customers with an exciting, next-level sound experience – the reduction also makes the car eight kilograms lighter. The RS 6 Avant performance has a total unladen weight of 2,090 kg whilst the RS 7 Sportback performance weighs 2,065 kg.
