Warren To Restrict Access To Big Donors

Description

Politico reports U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren pledged she will not hold any expensive fundraisers to collect cash for her Presidential bid. In an email, Warren promised she won’t sell access to big-name donors as candidates often do to raise money for a presidential bid. She becomes the first candidate to formally swear-off the traditional means of campaign funding. Instead of fancy galas with thousand dollar plates, Warren will have to depend mainly on contributions from grassroots supporters. She will hold no fundraising dinners, cocktail parties, or thousand dollar photo-op meet and greets. This is a stark contrast to 2016 Democratic Nominee Hillary Clinton, who held several dozen events for big donors. Don't expect Elizabeth Warren to stick to this promise during the general election. Warren said she would return to conducting pricey fundraising events for big money donors should she win the nomination.

  • Study Shows Buffett's Apple Bet Could Go Sideways

New research suggests that Warren Buffett's Apple investment might not payoff over the next decade. Dimensional Fund Advisors tracked the largest 10 US stocks at the start of each decade since 1930. Business Insider reports that DFA found that on average, they underperformed the market by 1.1% over the next five years and 1.5% over 10 years. Apple is the most valuable US stock with a $2-Trillion market capitalization. Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway counts Apple as the biggest holding in its equity portfolio. The investor's company has more than tripled its money on Apple in less than five years. The company might not gain significantly more for a long time.

  • Beast's Scene In 'The Marvels' Raises A Big X-Men Question 'Deadpool & Wolverine' Needs To Answer

At the end of the recent Marvel Studios movie "The Marvels," Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) sacrificed herself to close a rift between universes. She left herself on the other side, and when she woke up, she ran into someone she believed to be her mother, Maria (Lashana Lynch)... and Beast, a core member of the mutant team The X-Men. The excitement at seeing Beast on screen again was a lot. And, it was the Kelsey Grammer version of the mutant, an iteration we hadn’t seen since the 2006 film "X-Men: The Last Stand." That was many moons ago, and in a continuity that occurred long before the MCU even existed. Now that we know Grammer is willing to return to the X-Men universe, our managing editor has a question about something he said… and thinks it can be answered in the upcoming Marvel Studios movie "Deadpool & Wolverine." #xmen#deadpool #deadpool3 #deadpoolwolverine #fantheories #mcu #superhero
