Venezuela's Guaido To Meet Brazil's President Bolsonaro In Anti-Maduro Push

Description

According to a report by Reuters, on Thursday, Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido met with EU ambassadors to Brazil ahead of a meeting with Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro in an effort to raise international pressure on President Nicolas Maduro to step down. Guaido’s office reportedly said that the Venezuelan opposition leader’s meeting with Bolsonaro would be private, while his meeting with Foreign Minister Ernesto Araujo would be official. Reuters reports that following a visit to Colombia for the launching of a U.S.-led plan to get humanitarian aid into Venezuela, Brazil will be Guaido’s first stop on a tour of several nations to increase diplomatic pressure on Maduro.
