SpaceX Builds Experimental Stainless Steel Rocket

Description

SpaceX is building a stainless-steel rocket ship. On Saturday, company president Elon Musk shared a rendering which is being built in southern Texas. Musk calls the rocket the "test hopper" because instead of launching into orbit around Earth, it will rocket on "hops" about 16,400 feet in the air. The experimental vehicle is designed to provide information for an orbit-ready prototype of Starship. Starship is being designed to one day bring 100 people and 150 tons of cargo to Mars. A Starship is currently scheduled to launch people for the first time in 2023.
