American pop star Lady Gaga is planning the launch of her own beauty line.
Leave it to Lady Gaga to make a fashion statement even when she’s casting her ballot. The “911” singer, who’s used her massive platform in recent weeks to encourage fans to vote in the upcoming presidential election, shared a video of herself walking the walk on Instagram Monday night. But given that this is Lady Gaga, she chose to exercise her civil right with some flair, strutting to the ballot drop box in sparkly pink platform moon boots, an oversized tee and her “Chromatica”-themed face mask.
World Mental Health Day is on October 10. In honor of the day, CNN Style spoke with Selena Gomez, an advocate for mental health awareness. The singer and actor has been open about her own mental health challenges, and sometimes feeling "less than," due to the pressures that come along with becoming famous at a young age. She explains, "It's hard enough for anyone during those early years but imagine it with the world judging you and commenting on every aspect of your life and choices." Selena wants to use her voice to reduce the stigma associated with talking about mental health, and to encourage people to celebrate their individualism. The goal of her new beauty line, Rare Beauty, is to challenge beauty norms and celebrating what each person unique. She adds "Since the start of Rare Beauty, my team and I have been building a community to have positive conversations around self-acceptance and mental health." A percentage of the sales go to Selena's Rare Impact Fund, which helps underserved communities access to the mental health resources and services. Their goal is to raise $100 million over the next ten years. She adds, "We all need to embrace our uniqueness, stop comparing ourselves to others, and love ourselves more, especially right now."
A live album featuring the performances from the 'One World: Together At Home' event has been released to stream, with profits going to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organisation (WHO).
