Penguin chicks, squirrel monkeys and gorillas are among the animals having their vital statistics recorded at ZSL London Zoo’s 2017 annual weigh-in. Zoo keepers spend hours throughout the year recording the heights and weights of all the animals, information which helps them to monitor their health and well-being.
Prague Zoo, located in Czech Republic, is offering unsold Christmas trees to its animals as food or toys. Six dozen unsold spruces have ended up at the zoo to please elephants, gorillas and hyenas. The animals either devour the needles, scratch their backs on the trees or kick them around.
