Migrants travelling in a caravan through southern Mexico throw stones and hit security forces with sticks on a highway in the town of Pijijiapan. Mexican activist Luis Garcia Villagran, one of the leaders of the caravan, says the skirmishes broke out after agents began to detain women and children straggling behind the main group.
Mexico deploys hundreds of riot police to its border with Guatemala as a caravan of Central American migrants prepares to cross on the way to the United States, in defiance of US President Donald Trump.
A group of migrants, most of them Central Americans, clashes with the Mexican National Guard near the southern border of Mexico, and are detained by immigration authorities.
At least six civilians were reported killed and dozens of other people wounded when Kyrgyz and Tajik security forces exchanged fire across the border on Thursday and residents hurled rocks at each other in a clash over a water reservoir.
