Meghan Markle Aligns With 4 Charities, Including One That Supports Women

Description

Kensington Palace announced on Thursday that Meghan Markle will support four charities that back job seeking women, the theater, and animals in her first charity patronages. Harry grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, gave the role of patronizing two of the charities, the National Theatre and the Association of Commonwealth Universities, to the Duchess of Sussex, after supporting them for over 30 years. CNN says that Meghan will also work with SmartWorks, a group that "helps long-term unemployed and vulnerable women" ace job interviews and secure work. Meghan visited SmartWorks on Thursday and said, "It's not just donating your clothes and seeing where they land, but really being part of each other's success stories as women." The palace says that the Duchess will also meet with the other three charities in the near future. This includes her fourth charity of choice, Mayhew. The grassroots charity supports animal welfare both in London and internationally.
