Secretary Of Defense Extends Deployment Of Troops At US-Mexico Border

The Pentagon said U.S. troops will remain at the U.S.-Mexico border until at least the end of September. The move comes after approval from the new Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan. According to Business Insider, Shanahan approve Department of Defense assistance to the Department of Homeland Security. The initial deployment of troops to the border began in October and was called “Operation Faithful Patriot.
