Netflix Not Threatened By Hulu's Fyre Fest Documentary

Description

Hulu and Netflix are battling for whose Fyre Fest documentary will be more popular. Business Insider reports Hulu made a surprise move earlier this week, releasing its documentary on the infamous music festival four days before the release of Netflix's 'Fyre' doc. Chris Smith, who directed Netflix's "Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened" said that he and his team were told in advance what Hulu was planning. Smith said, "We knew it was coming and I brought it up with Netflix and it just wasn't an issue to them," Smith said. Though Hulu has around 25 million subscribers, Netflix has 137 million subscribers worldwide. Smith added, "For us [the Hulu release] wasn't that much of a big deal because we just knew that so many more people are going to see it on Netflix."
