Sherrod Brown Is Planning A Trip To Iowa


Politico reports that Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown a trip to Iowa in the coming weeks. The visit is the biggest sign yet that Brown is planning a Presidential run. Four people with knowledge of the trip confirm it in the final stages of planning and will soon be announced. The theme of Brown's reelection last year was the “dignity of work.” But preparations go beyond public statements. A Brown’s longtime aide and current chief of staff, Sarah Benzing works backstage to set up a campaign. Benzing grew up and worked on a series of congressional, Senate and presidential campaigns. Benzing said her past campaigns taught her to focus more on internal campaign goals rather than keeping track of what others are doing.

Brown is the latest in a string of candidates to forgo joining the growing field of candidates looking to oust President Donald Trump.
