Marie Kondo-esque Twitter Unfollow Plugin Sparks Joy

Description

You don't have to wait until the weather warms up to start your Spring cleaning—especially when it comes to Twitter. Julius Tarng, a former Facebook product designer, launched "Tokimeki Unfollow." The Twitter plug-in helps expedite the scrubbing of your news feed. Although you can unfollow people directly through Twitter, Geek.com says that Tarng's plugin comes with a sense of urgency that helps you plow through the process. It is inspired by organization expert, Marie Kondo's method of cutting out any belongings that don't "spark joy." They explain, "Tokimeki Unfollow makes it easy to sit with someone’s tweets, hug them tight, then say thank you and goodbye." Tarng adds, "If you’ve ever actually KonMari’d anything, you’ll know that it takes a LONG time and a LOT of hard decisions.”

At long last, a new coronavirus stimulus package is finally set to be passed by the US Congress. The last one expired at the end of July. Business Insider reports the long-awaited package will reportedly contain $600 stimulus checks and an extra $300 in weekly unemployment benefits. However, the deal hasn't been well-received in the Twitterverse, and has produced references to class warfare and revolution. 'Let them eat cake' trended on Twitter in response to the apparently inadequate $600 stimulus check. It's a famous utterance attributed to Marie Antoinette, representing the out-of-touch monied, ruling class overthrown in the French Revolution.
