Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin has died at age 76. Channel 24 South Africa reports that Franklin was suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer. Her publicist Gwendolyn Quinn told AP through a family statement that Franklin died on Thursday in Detroit. She had a string of unforgettable hits, including Respect and Chain of Fools. The family has not yet announced plans for a funeral or memorial service.
