Palestinian mourners gather for the funeral of three people killed in Jenin in an Israeli air strike on their vehicle. The Israeli military said it had "eliminated" Ahmed Barakat, who it accused of a May 2023 attack that killed an Israeli settler. Jenin and its adjacent refugee camp are a stronghold of armed Palestinian groups opposing Israel, which has occupied the West Bank since 1967. Israeli troops regularly carry out incursions into Palestinian communities but until several months ago had rarely struck the West Bank from the air. IMAGES
The White House says it is "seriously concerned" about reports that a Palestinian teenager with dual US citizenship has been killed by Israeli fire in the occupied West Bank. "We're seriously concerned about these reports. The information is scant at this time, we don't have perfect context about exactly what happened," National Security Council spokesman John Kirby tells reporters. SOUNDBITE
Palestinians assess the damage following overnight Israeli army raids in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem. The Israeli army said troops had killed "at least eight terrorists" in Tulkarem and returned fire while working to "uncover roads where explosive devices were planted". IMAGES
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will leave Thursday on a trip to five Arab countries, the West Bank, Turkey and Greece, in addition to a previously announced stop in Israel, the State Department says. Blinken among other issues will "discuss immediate measures to increase substantially humanitarian assistance to Gaza," State Department spokesman Matthew Miller tells reporters. SOUNDBITE
