San Juan's Mayor Criticizes Government For Hurricane Maria Response

Description

According to CNN, the mayor of San Juan said bureaucracy and inefficiency resulted in the deaths of thousands of people in the wake of Hurricane Maria. Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz also blamed President Donald Trump and federal officials for not providing more assistance to the Puerto Rican government. But San Juan's mayor also placed blame on Puerto Rican officials for not doing more. A study commissioned by the Puerto Rican government stated nearly 3,000 people died due to the hurricane. Mayor Cruz added that the administration bares responsibility for dead Puerto Ricans due to neglect.
