Premium manufacturer Audi heralded in the age of e-mobility in 2018 with the launch of the Audi e-tron, marking the start of the electric future at the brand with the four rings. Since then, the model has been setting standards in the electric SUV luxury class. The new Audi Q8 e-tron now continues the success story of the electric pioneer. As the top model in the electric SUV and crossover range, it boasts an optimized drive concept, improved aerodynamics, higher charging performance, and expanded battery capacity – increasing the range up to 582 km in the SUV, and up to 600 km in the Sportback (both according to the WLTP). Significant updates, especially in the front of the vehicle, lend the new SUV flagship a fresher appearance.Audi heralded in its electric future around four years ago with the launch of the Audi e-tron. Since, the company has stuck to its sustainability roadmap, boasting an eight-model-strong electric portfolio. By 2026, there will be over 20 and from then, Audi will only launch all-electric models to the global market. Audi offers the new Q8 e-tron as a classic SUV and a dynamically styled Sportback, that combines the spaciousness of an SUV with the elegant lines of a large coupé. Standing 4,915 mm in length, 1,937 mm wide, and 1,619 mm (Sportback) or 1,633 mm (SUV) tall, the Q8 e-tron offers maximum space and comfort. The SQ8 e-tron and SQ8 Sportback e-tron are both two millimeters flatter and 39 mm wider.
With the optional augmented reality head-up display in the Q4 e-tron, Audi is taking a huge step forward in display technology. It reflects important information via the windshield on two separate levels, the status section and the augmented reality (AR) section. The information provided by some of the assist systems and the turning arrows of the navigation system as well as its starting points and destinations are visually superimposed in the corresponding place on the real-life outside world as content of the AR section and displayed dynamically. They appear to be floating at a physical distance of roughly ten meters (32.8 ft) to the driver. Depending on the situation, they appear considerably further ahead in some cases. The driver can understand the displays very quickly without being confused or distracted by them, and they are extremely helpful in poor visibility conditions.
Audi is pressing forward consistently with its electrification offensive: at a world premiere with celebrity participants, the Four Rings company presented the Audi Q4 e-tron and the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron. These all-electric models represent the brand’s entry into premium e-mobility in the compact segment. At the second digital Celebration of Progress, in the company of Audi experts and international guests, the Four Rings demonstrated the highlights of the SUV/CUV: typical e-tron design, cutting-edge display technologies and impressive spaciousness.
The Audi e-tron S and the Audi e-tron S Sportback reveal their electric power at first glance. Their front and rear bumpers have strong contours, and the air curtains are particularly large and expressive. The diffuser insert at the rear end extends almost across the entire vehicle width. The fact that the wheel arches on both sides are 23 millimeters (0.9 in) wider makes the cars appear very powerful. Silver attachments at the front and rear end add highlights. This, as well as the aluminum exterior mirror housings are exclusive features of the S models Large parts of the body’s lower section can be painted in a contrasting color upon request.Both cars can be equipped with Matrix LED headlights as an option – another world first in mass production that Audi introduced with the e-tron Sportback in the fall of 2019. Each light is divided into 1.3 million pixels and can be controlled with great precision, which opens up many new functions. In narrow areas, for example, it shows the car’s position in the lane and thus helps the driver to remain safely in the center.
With the introduction of the Audi e-tron, the Audi brand presents its first fully electric production model. The mid-size SUV is electrified, performance oriented and fit for every aspect of daily life. In combination with a comprehensive range of available charging solutions for home and on the move, customers can enjoy fully electric driving without compromise.The Audi e-tron is an electric SUV for sport, family and leisure. It is 193 inches long, 76.3 inches wide and 65.5 inches high. It offers the spaciousness and comfort commensurate with an Audi. With a wheelbase of 115.1 inches, the Audi e-tron has ample space for five occupants and cargo. The total luggage capacity is 28.5 cu ft. (57.0 cu ft. seats down), equipping the electric SUV for short jaunts and long road trips.
