World Aids Day is a tale of the haves and the have-nots. In France, HIV testing is now available over the counter, and easy access to therapy means some of the infected are in their fourth decade of living healthy lives. But the virus is still active and new generations need to be reminded of the simple precautions to take. Nearly six out of ten humans have no access to treatment, and there’s a rising infection rate in many parts of the world, with 70% of the cases in Africa.
Originally released in 2012 in the United States, Truvada, a pre-exposure prophylaxis, prevents the chance of being infected by HIV by almost 99 percent, so why isn't everybody on it?
