    Officials say a mother pulled off a mountain lion that charged at her 5-year-old son in Colorado on Friday night. The boy's mother heard screaming while he was playing outside with his older brother. The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office said the boy suffered face, head and neck injuries and was in fair condition at a hospital in Denver. The mother was also treated and released from the hospital.   • Mother Fights Off Mountain Lion Attack

    Authorities say on Friday night a mother in Colorado fought off a mountain lion that attacked her five-year-old son. The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office told ABC7 the boy had been playing outside with his older brother around 8pm when the mountain lion attacked. The incident happened near their home about 10 miles north west of Aspen. According to a police statement, the mother heard screams from outside and “physically removed her son from the mountain lion.". The boy’s face, head and neck were injured. He was taken to an Aspen area hospital, conscious and alert. The sheriff’s department said a forest service officer killed the lion. Mountain lions are not often seen in Colorado, and attacks are rare.

  • 7-Year-Old Fights Back Against Robber at Maryland GameStop

    A young boy shopping for a stuffed animal at a Maryland Game Stop in Silver Spring fought back against an armed robber by hitting him with a toy. CBS affiliate WUSA reports that Montgomery County Police are investigating the robbery which occurred on the evening of May 20. They have released surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the suspects with the public's help.
