Popular Toys May Be Harder To Get This Holiday Season

Description

If you're shopping for children this holiday season, you may want to get it done early. According to Business Insider, hot toys may be harder to find this year. Although retailers like Amazon, Walmart and Target have expanded their toys section following the closure of Toys-R-Us, a toy executive says that it may not be enough. Isaac Larian, CEO of toy company MGA Entertainment, says that shoppers have only started to feel the pain of Toys R Us' absence. To ensure that they were all stocked up for holidays, he says that Toy R Us would buy more toys earlier and later in the season than other retailers often do. He explains, "Toys R Us, they were not afraid to buy merchandise in December because they could spread it to January, February, March, April... But that's not the situation with the other mass merchants." Retailers like Amazon, Target and Walmart are more than just a toy store, so their focus shifts. He says that even with their expanded toy offerings, it doesn't compare to Toy-R-Us's stock.
