Yangon, Apr 27 (EFE/EPA).- Myanmar’s military junta said Tuesday it will only fulfill the five points of consensus reached with leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including the end of violence against civilians, when the country "returns to stability."In a statement published Tuesday by the ruling New Light of Myanmar newspaper, the military junta said it will "carefully consider the suggestions" of ASEAN leaders "when stability returns to the country," as current priorities are "to maintain stability, law and order, and reestablishing "community peace and tranquility."Likewise, the junta said it told ASEAN leaders the "suggestions will be considered positively," if the application of the five agreed points of consensus "serves the interests of the country." Bangkok, Apr 1 (EFE).- The special representative of Myanmar’s deposed civilian government called Thursday for a foreign military intervention in Myanmar to stop the violence of the military junta, which has killed more than 530 civilians, including children, since the Feb. 1 coup.In an interview with EFE, Htin Linn Aung said foreign military intervention is the only way to stop the killings of civilians while advocating the creation of a federal army with ethnic minorities and avoiding considering the persecuted Rohingya as citizens.
