Shut It Down: Trump Wants To Stop Florida Election Recounts

Description

U.S. President Donald Trump wants election officials to end multiple recounts in Florida. And once they've stopped, Trump wants them to declare his fellow Republicans the winners. Leads by Republican candidates shrank as more ballots were tallied following last Tuesday’s elections. According to Reuters, Florida officials are scrambling to review more than 8 million ballots by Thursday. Providing no evidence, Trump has publicly cast doubt on the recount process. Meanwhile, a judge has urged both parties to be careful with unsubstantiated allegations of fraud.

  • Concern Growing Over Bizarre Company Trump Is Keeping In His Final White House Days

Grave concern is growing among senior White House advisers about the people President Donald Trump has been listening to lately. That's generated new levels of uncertainty at how Trump will resist the coming end of his tenure. The coterie includes conspiracist lawyer Sidney Powell, disgraced former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and onetime chief strategist Steve Bannon. Other voices in Trump's ear are those from hawkish trade adviser Peter Navarro and the eccentric founder of the retail website Overstock. Sources close to the President say his advisers are particularly worried about what Powell may convince him to do in the coming days. Through it all, Trump has mostly abandoned the day-to-day running of government.

Business Insider reports former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Sunday had sharp words for President Donald Trump's legal team. Christie told Martha Radditz on ABC's 'This Week' that the team's approach to overturning the election results was 'an absurdity.' It's an absurd idea to think that any state, or any number of states, no matter how good they are, can challenge another state's right to run the election as they see fit. Chris Christie Former Governor of the State of New Jersey Friday, the Supreme Court declined to hear the GOP-backed lawsuit brought by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton due to lack of standing. In addition to Paxton, 17 state attorneys general and 126 Congressional Republicans had signed an amicus brief backing the lawsuit. It's a lack of evidence and a lack of any type of legal theory that makes any sense."
