New Study Finds That Cutting Your Social Media Usage Reduces Risk of Depression

Description

A new study by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania found that limiting one's social media usage to 30 minutes per day can lead to significant improvements in your well-being. Specifically, less time on social media can lower rates of depression and loneliness. The study — which was published in December's Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology — was one of the first to show a cause-and-effect relationship between social media usage and mental health issues. In the study, 143 undergraduate students were tested over the course of two semesters.
