Rick Grimes Star Andrew Lincoln Wanted to Do a 'Walking Dead' Movie for Years

The Walking Dead's Rick Grimes star Andrew Lincoln has wanted to make the switch to movies “for years,” says former co-star Chandler Riggs. “He’s been wanting to do movies for years. He was saying since Season Three or Four. He was like, ‘Dude, we should do a movie, it would be so cool to do a full-on movie in theaters.' Lincoln inked a deal to reappear as Rick Grimes in a trilogy of television movies to be produced by AMC Studios.

According to Comicbook.com, "The Walking Dead followed its source material quite closely with the Season Nine premiere. The AMC show aired its Episode 9x01 on Sunday night, with Gregory having been killed in true-to-the-comics form and Maggie and Daryl not exactly seeing eye to eye with Rick Grimes."
