The skit opens with a voiceover, saying, "Millions of real Americans are switching from Fox News to Newsmax because Newsmax tells them the truth -- that Donald Trump could still win this election." SNL's Alex Moffat, playing Sportsmax anchor Robert King, throws shade at "mainstream sports networks like ESPN," mocking Newsmax's attempt to take over the conservative news space. Moffat says "It's been reported that on November 29, the Jets lost to the Dolphins 20 to three."
Apoplectic Republican Senate Judiciary Committee members plan to subpoena Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. They want him to testify about Twitter's decision to block links to a dubious New York Post article about Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden. The New York Post article contains unverified emails purportedly taken from Hunter Biden's laptop. Twitter says it considered the emails to have been hacked. According to Business Insider, those same emails were provided to the newspaper by Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer. Hunter Biden has denied the story's veracity. Twitter said it blocked people from sharing links to the Post's story Wednesday for violating its policies against distributing 'hacked materials.'
