Ford Names New European Chief Of Product Development

AutoNews reports that Ford has promoted global programs director Joerg Bayer to head of product development in Europe. The move comes as the American car manufacturer implements changes designed to return the region to profitability. Bayer will replace Joe Bakaj following his retirement. The goal of Ford of Europe’s redesign is to reach a six percent EBIT profit margin in the region. Bayer has worked with Ford since 1990 and has held several product development positions based in Germany, the UK and China.
