Why Did 'Aquaman'Director Choose Character Everyone Makes Fun Of?

Director James Wan talked to Business Insider about his new movie, "Aquaman." Aquaman is the comic book character everyone make fun of. But, Wan knew that 'Aquaman' was really a bad-ass and used this movie to prove the point to the world. The film is already breaking box-office records in China. Wan told BI that making a movie like "Furious 7" prepared him for the pressures of making a DC Comics movie. DC and Warner Brothers needs 'Aquaman' to be a hit with audiences. Especially following the disappointing "Justice League" release. Wan said the film required 2,000 visual effects shots.
