U.N. Climate Talks Stall Over Carbon Credit Issue

Description

According to a report by Reuters, on Saturday, United Nations climate talks to agree on a set of rules for the 2015 Paris Agreement became deadlocked over the monitoring of carbon credits t reduce emissions. While many points have reportedly been settled, a stand-off continues over the accounting rules for future carbon permit schemes. Reuters reports that a senior negotiator said Brazil has lingering concerns about some of the rules for governing international carbon credit schemes.
