Country Music Legend George Jones passed away at the age of 81 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville after a bout with fever and blood pressure issues. Many country music stars have called him one of the greatest country singers of all time.
Mumbai, Jul 7 (EFE/EPA).- Dilip Kumar, one of the most celebrated Indian actors, who earned the nickname of “The Tragedy King” for his lugubrious roles in Bollywood films, died on Wednesday morning, his family said. He was 98.Born as Yusuf Khan in 1922, the actor was more famous for his screen name of Dilip Kumar and dominated the Indian cinema during what is known as the golden age of Bollywood from the 1940s to the 1960s.He was ailing for quite some time and was admitted to a hospital a week ago. Gerry Marsden, lead singer of the 1960s British rock band Gerry and the Pacemakers, has died. According to CNN, Marsden died of a heart infection on Sunday. Marsden was best known for hits like; “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” and “Ferry Cross the Mersey”. His rendition of the Broadway show tune “You’ll Never Walk Alone” became a Number One hit in the U.K. in 1963. Marsden is survived by his wife of 55 years, 2 children, and 2 grandchildren. He was 78 years old.
Johnny Nash, best known for his 1972 hit "I Can See Clearly Now," has died. The singer passed away Tuesday morning according to his son, John Nash. The American reggae and pop music singer-songwriter died from natural causes at his home in Houston. Nash's "I Can See Clearly Now" hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 4, 1972, and held the top spot for four weeks. According to CNN, Johnny Nash began his career as a pop singer in the 1950's. Nash was 80 years old at the time of his death.
