Bitcoin Hits It's Lowest Level In 15-Months

Bitcoin continues to free fall. On Thursday, the digital currency touched a low of $3,203. That's the lowest the currency has been in fifteen months. On Thursday, the FBI said that bomb threats were mailed across the country by someone demanding bitcoin.

    According to a report by Markets Insider, Bitcoin hit its lowest level of the year on Friday morning, trading down 8.6 percent at 6,144 dollars as all major cryptocurrencies slipped. Data from CoinMarketCap shows that the entire crypto market has shed half of its value since the beginning of the year.     Business Insider reports that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies fell under heavy pressure Monday morning. Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency plummeted 4.8% to below $3,400 a coin. The fall in price marks the cryptocurrency's lowest level since December 17, 2018. Bitcoin's rivals "ether", "litecoin" and" bitcoin cash" were also under increased pressure. Mati Greenspan, senior market analyst at eToro, told Business Insider; "There’s no need for overreaction here. Bitcoin is continuing to trade within the core area of support between $3,000 and $3,500, within the broader range of $3,000 - $5,000, where it’s been since November 2018."

    Business Insider reports that Bitcoin now trading at a new 15-month low. Cryptocurrencies haven't been spared from the this weeks selloff in global markets. Bitcoin had slumped below $US3,400 on one of the world's three largest exchanges by volume, Binance. That marks a fall of more than 10% over the last 24 hours. That takes Bitcoin prices to a new 15-month low.
