Tech And Energy Shares Lead Rebound For US Stocks

Description

According to Reuters, US stocks rose during afternoon trading on Sept. 11th. After a slow start on Wall Street, tech and energy stocks jumped, leading to gains for the top three indexes. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose almost 134-points, to 25,991. Helped by a 2-percent jump for Apple and other tech stocks, the S&P 500 gained 13-points, while the Nasdaq Composite added 47-points. The S&P's energy index grew by 1.2-percent, as oil prices increased due to sanctions on Iranian crude exports, which tightened global supply. But the S&P's tech sector rose almost 1-percent, with Microsoft and Facebook adding over 1-percent.
