Efficient, emotive and electrifying – these attributes neatly sum up the ENYAQ iV. In launching its first all-electric SUV, the Czech car manufacturer has taken the biggest step yet in its electromobility strategy. The new ENYAQ iV is the first ŠKODA production model to be based on Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular electric car platform. It is built at ŠKODA’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav, making it the only MEB-based model in Europe to be manufactured outside of Germany. ŠKODA’s new flagship boasts generous amounts of space as is typical of the brand, and – thanks to its emotive design language – its appearance is electrifying too. Inside, new Design Selections replace the classic trim levels, while a clear and new structure of the options available means the car can be configured with just a few clicks. The ENYAQ iV comes with rear- or all-wheel drive, and there are five power levels and three battery sizes to choose from. The range of more than 520 km in the WLTP cycle is perfectly suitable for travelling long distances. The car will be launched in the spring of 2021.
Since his debut in 1954, beloved Japanese giant nuke-lizard Godzilla has gotten bigger and bigger. In fact, the radiation-breathing monster was 36 stories tall in his latest silver screen appearance. Paleontologist Mike Habib is an expert in giant reptiles. He also helps design fantastical creatures for TV and film. And according to Business Insider, Habib says if Godzilla were actually a living creature, he'd be unable to lift his own weight. Not only that, he'd be brain-dead long before he ever reached a city because his heart is neither large nor powerful enough to pump blood to his head. What's more, Habib says Godzilla's nerve-conduction speed would be so slow that he wouldn't be able to move!
Gizmodo reports ailing theater chain AMC might be totally broke by the end of 2020. In financial filings, the company disclosed on Tuesday that it may require 'additional sources of liquidity or increases in attendance levels' to survive. In other words, it'll need more cash or more butts on seats--or both. The company cites low attendance and a delayed movie release schedule during the coronavirus pandemic. If those don’t change, AMC may pursue additional debt and equity financing, renegotiations with landlords, asset sales, or joint ventures. They're not alone. Competitor Regal Cinemas has also disclosed it will need fresh funds by early 2021 if the winter results in 'prolonged' shutdowns.
