A huge wildfire broke out in the hills near Santa Paula, California on Monday. It's rapid spread is helped along by gusts sweeping through the area at 50 miles per hour. At least 27,000 have been evacuated as of Tuesday. One person was killed when their car rolled over as they attempted to evacuate. California Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency for Venture County. Over 1,100 firefighter have gathered to battle the blaze.
Drone footage captured the destruction wreaked by a tornado that swept through the town of Elk City, western Oklahoma on Tuesday, killing at least one person. Not a single house which stood in the path of the twister was left untouched and the devastation could be seen for miles around from the air. According to local reports, around 40 houses were totally destroyed, while between 50 and 75 homes were left uninhabitable after the twister compromised their structural integrity. The tornado caused untold sums in damages, estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars. Emergency services continue to rescue Elk City residents, several of whom remain trapped under the rubble of their homes. Local authorities have reported that around 20 to 25 people were injured in the tornado.
At least 13 people have died in a blaze at a karaoke club on the outskirts of the Vietnamese capital. Rough cut (no reporter narration).
