Amazon's Fourth-Quarter Earnings Indicate Decrease In Physical Store Sales

Description

Amazon recently reported their fourth-quarter earning and had one data point stand out. The company reported a 3 percent decrease in sales from physical stores compares to last year. According to Business Insider, this stands out because it’s the first full year since acquiring Whole Foods. CFO Brian Olsavsky said the decline was caused by an accounting change. Additionally their new online grocery pickup and delivery services are counted with online and not physical store revenue.
