U.S. Announces That It Will Withdraw From Arms Control Treaty In Six Months

According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, the United States announced that it will withdraw from the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia in six months unless Moscow halts its alleged violations of the historic 1987 arms control agreement. The United States reportedly said that it would reconsider its withdrawal if Russia comes into compliance with the agreement, which bars both nations from stationing short-and intermediate-range land based missiles in Europe.
