Heat Waves Take Over Australia

According to Gizmodo.com, Australia is experiencing a second heat wave within in two weeks, with temperatures in Melbourne hitting 109.4 degrees Fahrenheit. In the meantime, while struggling to fight the heat, the state of Tasmania is currently attempting to fight "30 uncontained fires." Electrical blackouts that have lasted for over two hours have affected around 200,000 people in the state of Victoria, and many areas have experienced little relief from the heat despite the natural changes in daily temperatures. According to NPR, Australia’s State Emergency Service has declared the consistent elevated temperatures " a threat to public safety."
