MSCI Global Stock Index On Track For Best January Ever

Description

According to Reuters, stocks are trading up around the world for a second day. MSCI's all country world stock index added eight-tenths of percent on Jan. 31st. That puts the index on track for its best January on record. It's emerging market index has also gained about 1.3-percent on the year. In Europe, the FTSEurofirst 300 index rose about two-tenths of a percent, while the Stoxx 600 index remained about flat.

Global Equity Index Drops Below 2 Month Low

According to Reuters, a global gauge of stock markets fell below a two month low. On May 29th, MSCI's all-country world stock index fell about 1-percent with losses stretching across Asia, the US, and Europe. In Europe, the Stoxx 600 index fell 1.4-percent, while the euro was steady after two days of losses. On Wall Street, the top three markets on the New York Stock Exchange lost about 1-percent each. The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 270-points, dropping over 1-percent.
