Moscow opposition fights to get on local ballot

Description

Discarded signatures, spoiler candidates and police detentions: the latest battle of the Russian opposition to participate in next month's polls in Moscow risks boiling over into a political crisis. On Sunday, some 2,000 people gathered outside the City Hall and later the Moscow election commission before police intervened, detaining dozens of opposition figures, including colleagues of opposition politician Alexei Navalny.
